Innovative moments of Julie Taymor's screen adaptation of the Shakespeare's latest play THE TEMPEST are investigated in comparison with Derek Jarman's and Peter Greenaway's versions. The daughter/mother relations without feminist touch are especially accentuated as well as peculiarities of Helen Mirren's performance as Prospera opposite the same role played by John Gielgud and Heathcote Williams.
